When you’re out exploring in your caravan or motorhome, the last thing you want is a complicated meal. But that doesn’t mean you have to settle for boring! This Sticky Beef Strips recipe, made using your trusty Cadac BBQ, is quick, full of flavour, and ideal for a satisfying evening meal under the awning.
🔥 Why Cook on the Cadac?
Cadac grills are a campsite favourite for good reason. They’re compact, easy to use, and incredibly versatile — perfect for sizzling up quick recipes like this one, whether you’re using the Grillo Chef, Carri Chef, or 2 Cook.
🥢 Sticky Beef Strips Recipe
🧂 Ingredients:
500g beef stir fry strips or rump steak, thinly sliced
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp honey
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp sesame oil (or olive oil)
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tsp grated fresh ginger (or a pinch of ground ginger)
1 tbsp sweet chilli sauce (optional for a kick)
Sesame seeds (optional garnish)
Spring onions, sliced (for serving)
🍳 Method:
Marinate the beef:
In a bowl or zip-lock bag, combine soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and sweet chilli sauce if using. Add the beef strips, mix well, and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes. If you’re prepping ahead, you can even do this before you hit the road.
Preheat your Cadac:
Fire up your Cadac and heat the flat plate or paella pan to medium-high. Add a little oil if needed.
Cook the beef:
Once the grill is hot, add the marinated beef strips in batches (don’t overcrowd the pan). Cook for 3–4 minutes, turning regularly until caramelised and slightly sticky.
Serve it up:
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced spring onions. Serve with rice, flatbreads, or a fresh salad — perfect for sharing outdoors.
💡 Tips for Campsite Cooks:
Use pre-sliced beef or frozen stir fry packs to save prep time.
Marinate in a reusable container or zip bag to reduce waste.
Add stir-fried peppers or onions on the side for an easy veg boost.
⛺ Perfect for Outdoor Evenings
Sticky beef strips are a great way to elevate your campsite dinner without the fuss. Quick, tasty, and cooked entirely on the Cadac — because camping food should be simple but satisfying.
