Warm, gooey peaches with a golden, cake-like topping — all made outdoors on your Cadac grill. This Peach Cobbler is perfect for cosy evenings at the campsite and super easy to whip up in one pan.
🍑 Ingredients (Serves 4–6):
For the filling:
1 large tin of peach slices in juice or syrup (approx. 400–425g)
1 tbsp brown sugar
½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
1 tsp lemon juice (optional, for brightness)
For the topping:
100g self-raising flour
50g sugar
50g butter (chilled and cubed)
50ml milk or a splash of long-life cream
Optional: a pinch of salt or cinnamon in the topping
🔥 Equipment:
Cadac Skottel, BBQ pan, or non-stick paella pan
Spoon or spatula
Lid or foil to cover
👨🍳 Method:
Preheat your Cadac on low to medium heat.
Make the filling: In your pan, add drained peaches (reserve a little juice), brown sugar, and cinnamon. Stir and heat gently until bubbling.
Prepare the topping: In a bowl, rub butter into flour until it resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in sugar, then add milk to make a thick, spoonable batter.
Spoon the batter in dollops over the peaches. It doesn’t need to cover them completely — it will spread as it cooks.
Cover the pan with a lid or foil to trap the heat like a mini oven. Cook over low heat for 15–20 minutes, until the topping is puffed and set.
Serve warm — ideally with cream, custard or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
🏕️ Why This Recipe Works on a Cadac:
One pan, no oven needed
Uses easy-to-pack ingredients
Works with fresh, tinned, or even frozen fruit
Big flavour, minimal effort
💡 IDS Tip:
Use foil to create a dome over the pan if your Cadac doesn’t have a lid — just be sure to seal it well around the edges to trap the heat inside for even cooking.
